Mezzo TV has made a film about the art director and chief conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra Sergey Smbatyan. The movie that lasts 25 minutes introduces the portrait of Sergey Smbatyan. It reflects Smbatyan’s musical path from his very first concert at the age of 18 till the Armenian State Symphony Orchetsra’s activity and his recitals with other prominent orchestras on different stages. Smbatyan talks about those 18 year old brave students, studying at Yerevan State Conservatory, who joined to co-found the orchestra.
“We wanted to do something special that will also keep us together after graduating the conservatory;” Smbatyan says. The Armenian music art and the performing mastery of our musicians is also introduced to Mezzo audience.
The film was made in 2018, Germany where Sergey Smbatyan was having a joint concert with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in Berlin Philharmonic. The video has recently been broadcast on Mezzo TV. The music lovers can watch it again on February 20 and 25, March 6 and 18.
