On February 1, the art director and chief conductor of the Armenian State Symphony
Orchestra Sergey Smbatyan performed with the Korean Chamber Orchestra in Seoul.
After the concert, the musician had a meeting with the representatives of the Armenian
community. The meeting was organized by the initiative of the community.
The musician was greatly surprised to see so many Armenians in Korea. Smbatyan is
greatly impressed with the meeting and the young people who not only attended the
concert, but who also had great desire to communicate with him.
The concert with the Korean Chamber Orchestra was very important since Aram Khachaturian’s “Waltz” was performed. The Korean audience accepted Khachaturian’s work with great interest. It is a great achievement to make Armenian music recognizable here.
