Sergey Smbatyan, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra conducts the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra's international tour devoted to the 50th anniversary of the orchestra. During the tour the orchestra performed in Carnegie Hall (New York) under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan with the participation of the world-renowned pianist Ingolf Wunder, December 1.
The MPO under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan also performed in Philadelphia Kimmel Center and Strathmore, North Bethesda, Maryland.
In the frames of the tour, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra has two concerts in Russia. The first concert took place in the Grand Hall of Moscow State Conservatory on December 5. The second concert will take place today in Mariinsky theatre (Saint Petersburg). The concert is dedicated to the victims of Spitak earthquake that burst in Armenian in 1988 on December 7.
